Solitaire Klondike rules
A Klondike deal places 28 cards in seven columns. The first column has one visible card; each later column adds one face-down card and ends with one visible card, leaving 24 cards in the stock.
The short version
A tableau card may be placed on the next higher rank of the opposite color. Empty columns accept only Kings or sequences led by a King. Foundations build by suit from Ace to King, and this game draws one stock card at a time.
Key points
- Only the top exposed card of the waste pile is available to play.
- Turn over the new top tableau card whenever a move uncovers it.
- Cards may return from a foundation to the tableau when a legal sequence needs them.
