Rules of the game
Clear the 3 peaks by playing any exposed card 1 rank above or below the current waste card.
- Only uncovered tableau cards can be played.
- The next card must be exactly one rank higher or lower than the waste.
- Ace and King are adjacent, so either can follow the other.
- Draw from the stock when no exposed card continues the sequence.

28 cards form 3 overlapping peaks. Only the uncovered cards are playable.
Stock and waste
1 card starts the waste, leaving 23 stock cards that can replace the active waste card.
Rank boundary
In this implementation, Ace and King are adjacent and may follow each other.

Legal move
Play a 6 on a 5 or 7, and play an Ace on a King in this version.
Illegal move
Play a covered card, a card two ranks away, or another stock card after the stock is empty.
How to play well
Before starting a chain, inspect both directions. The first legal card is not always the best one; choose the route that uncovers another card or connects several visible ranks.
Cards that release 2 overlapping cards are usually stronger than isolated matches. Clearing the lower rows early gives you more choices around all 3 peaks.
The stock never recycles, so every draw is a limited resource. Draw only when no exposed card continues the chain, including the Ace-King connection used in this version.
Useful tips
- Compare both directions before starting a chain.
- Favor moves that expose cards on two peaks.
- Save stock cards while a tableau sequence remains available.
Mistakes to avoid
- Do not end a chain on a rank with no visible continuation.
- Do not draw immediately after overlooking the opposite direction.
How the game ends
You win by removing all 28 peak cards. You lose when the stock is empty and no exposed card is adjacent to the waste rank.
Common questions
Do suits matter?
No. Only the rank immediately above or below the waste matters.
Can a King follow an Ace?
Yes. This implementation allows King-Ace wrapping in both directions.
Does the stock recycle?
No. Each of the 23 remaining stock cards can be used once.
